Welcome to Precious Life Wellness
My name Sebastian Muenda, I will be your guide on this wonderful digital journey.
I have been involved in the health, fitness, and spirituality for over 16 years. I am a teacher and health practitioner by trade, but I am constanlty a student of life.
I promise to deliver to you simple yet very effective tools and information so that you can improve your health, step up your fitness game and enhance your spiritual practice. With the knowledge you’ll gain you will also be able to help and inspire those around you.
I grew up in Miami in a predominantly Hispanic neighborhood. In the 80’s and 90’s it was quite the challenge to find any healthy options in my neighborhood. As my teen years were coming to and end I had a very interesting experience that would change my whole perspective on life...
Right be before my 20th birthday I had what some would call a spiritual awakening (I’ll write a post about that experience one day). The real short story story is that because of this “awakening” I dramatically changed my life and view of health.
I quite cold turkey alcohol, cigarettes, and processed foods. I removed all these things out of my life within about 3 months. I also stopped using chemicals on my body and switched to healthy alternatives of shampoos, soap, tooth paste, etc. One of the main things that motivated me to make this transition was seeing the effects of battling Cancer.
At this time in my life I had two family members fighting with cancer. I witnessed one of them physically banish in just 6 months. I saw a beautiful elder diminish because of pain and stage 4 cancer…
This fueled me into to studying nutrition/biology and finding the root cause of this nasty dis-ease as well as others. And what I discovered at the begin of my journey was that a lot of this came about by what we put into and on our body (and obviously external toxic environments too I learned about later). But whatever the cause was, I was discovering that nutrition plays a huge part in bringing back our health to help combat any dis-ease.
Also during this time in 2000 I entered my professional journey into health and wellness when I became a licensed as a massage therapist. This was my intro into the world of alternative medicine. I was able to work in some of the largest Hotels in South Beach, as well as top spa’s and chiropractic clinics.
In 2001 I began to study Qigong under Master Fu Wei Zhong, after completing my studies I received certification to teach Emei Qigong. While my massage and Qigong carrier flourished I began to study nutrition. While studying nutrition I found my passion for cooking, so the next step seemed very natural.
In 2003 I co-opened Tree of Zion a raw and vegan cafe in the heart of the Miami's Design District. After a couple years of serving Miami with healthy food, good music, and a community gathering space, I headed out west.
In 2005 I landed in San Francisco to pursue my education in sustainability. In 2006 I completed an Urban Permaculture Design Certification in Alameda, Ca. Also during that year I completed a Four Season Permaculture Course in Bolinas, CA at the Regenerative Design Institute. I finished of the year also completing courses in Natural Building offered at Merritt College in Oakland and at the Adobe Institute in Texas.
Adding to my knowledge of nutrition in 2006 I also studied western herbs with Adam Seller at Pacific School of Herbal Medicine.
From 2007 to 2011 I began studies with Tibetan Doctor and Yogi Dr. Nida Chenagtsang through the Sorig Institute. I studied mantra healing, dream yoga, sa che’ (tibetan fengshui), and completed the first year of Traditional Tibetan Medicine.
In 2008 I continued my nutritional studies in Chicago under a institution called Biomedx, where I learned blood microscope techniques and flow auditing system which looks at saliva and urine to help clients regain homeostasis in the body. Also in 2008 I became a certified Hypnotherapist through the Center for Hypnotherapy in Oakland,CA.
After practicing Kundalini yoga for 14 years and study Hermetic Kabbala for 8 years, I found the perfect union in Naam Yoga. In the Summer of 2012 I completed a 200 hour Naam yoga teacher training. Also in the summer of 2012 I became a certified personal trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine.
Alongside studying many aspects of health, nutrition, bodywork, and sustainability I also have a great passion for martial arts and fitness. Studying two and a half years of Shaolin Kung Fu and Qigong with Shaolin Monks in Oakland, and spending the last four years training in San Shou, Boxing, and Muay Thai.
In 2016 I became a Precision Nutrition Certified Coach under world class teacherJohn Berardi, PhD.
I am a firm believer in living what I teach, this is one reason that makes me an effective practitioner.
