kundalini yoga for liver

When most people think of yoga they think of holding long stretch poses and doing slow fluid movements. The focus of Kundalini Yoga is a bit different. Which I'll tell how in just a bit.

But first I just want to mention that I owe a lot to this powerful path of yoga which I have been practicing for 15 years and teaching for a third of that time.

It has personally helped me conquer anxiety, has kept me sober for 15 years, and has helped me gain control of my life and not be a victim to my emotions or circumstances.

It's really no wonder why they call it the yoga of awareness.

"The primary objective [of Kundalini] is to awaken the full potential of human awareness in each individual; that is, recognize our awareness, refine that awareness, and expand that awareness to our unlimited Self. Clear any inner duality, create the power to deeply listen, cultivate inner stillness, and prosper and deliver excellence in all that we do" - Kundalini Research Institute

During a kundalini yoga practice (or class) you will most likely be focusing on Breathing techniques (pranayam); which help focus your mind and helps calm your nervous system.

Mantra; are words said out loud or silently in your mind that train and regulate your mind.

Mudras; are hand gestures that are held in combination with breathing techniques and/or mantras. All of your body's organs are mapped out on your hands and applying pressure to certain points helps alleviate symptoms within those organs. You can also positively affect the balance of the 5 elements by pressing certain points.

So keep in mind this is what kundalini yoga is about. If you do then you'll be able benefit from what it has to offer.

I say this because I use to own a yoga studio and the primary yoga we offered was kundalini yoga. And still certain people that took the class complaint that it wasn't yoga. smh...

It wasn't the yoga that they are use to. There are actually four branches of yoga which all styles of yoga come from. Kundalini yoga comes from the Raja branch, which translates to royal and has to do with meditation.

Below is a simple Kundalini yoga set you can do at home that helps keep your liver healthy. And to bring in more support (herbal remedies) for your liver I suggest you check out this post here.

side note: The style of kundalini yoga I teach is a combination of kundalini yoga taught by Yogi Bhajan and Naam Yoga. Naam Yoga is a combination of kundalini yoga and universal kabbalah.
