Beef has gotten a pretty bad rap from self proclaimed health expert, but truth be told it's one of the most nourishing foods we have available to us. (Check out this book here by Gary Taubes  where breaks down the misleading research that started the health myth of beef being bad for our health).

Beef has a lot to offer us from good fats that nourish and fuel our hormones and allow our bodies to repair to vitamins like B12 which help our DNA repair and replicate in a healthy fashion.

While I am fan of a good steak the type of beef you buy is of upmost importance. For instance I only eat grass-fed beef, never do I eat commercial beef.

For two reasons. One, commercial animal farming is extremely in humane and secondly they pump beef with hormones and feed them a predominantly grain diet. 

When cows are fed grain their fats turn into inflammatory inducing fats. When cows are allowed to feed off the pasture (grass) they produce anti-inflammatory fats.
